As a small and medium-sized fine chemical enterprise with an annual revenue of 50 million yuan, it specialized in the production of basic chemical raw materials and once faced problems such as backward production processes (reaction conversion rate only 65%), low product added value, and meager profits. In 2021, intensified industry competition led to an 18% decline in revenue. To achieve a breakthrough, the enterprise collaborated with a chemical research institute to launch a technology empowerment project: Firstly, a comprehensive technical diagnosis was conducted, identifying unreasonable reaction routes and outdated catalyst selection as core issues. Then, the research institute provided a customized process upgrade plan, optimizing reaction conditions (temperature increased by 10℃, pressure adjusted to 0.8MPa), replacing with new high-efficiency catalysts, and introducing automatic feeding systems to improve raw material mixing uniformity. Without large-scale equipment investment, the reaction conversion rate was increased to 82%, and unit product energy consumption was reduced by 22%. Meanwhile, targeted technical training was carried out to improve employees’ operational skills and standardize process parameter control. The enterprise was assisted in adjusting product structure, using the optimized process to produce high-value-added pharmaceutical intermediates (gross profit margin increased from 15% for original products to 45% for new products). In addition, production scheduling was optimized to reduce equipment switching time, increasing production capacity utilization from 68% to 86%. After transformation, the enterprise’s annual revenue grew to 80 million yuan, and net profit margin increased from 8% to 18%, successfully breaking away from low-level price competition and achieving differentiated development.
